We started out the day with Waffle House again because we were getting a little tired of La Quinta complimentary breakfast everyday...
Then we headed to downtown Nashville with the pups! We went to the Centennial Park in downtown, which was pretty cool. It had a TON To look at and check out. It's basically a park celebrating all things related to the history of Tennessee.
The pups were thouroughly exhausted after our adventures so we dropped them back off at the hotel and we hit up the Nashville Farmer's Market to get lunch. It's similar to Quincy Market bur MUCH more bearable. Less tourists, better food, masons jars, BEER
I've been wanting this one for a while and decided the road trip would be the best time/most memorable to get it.
We went to get a celebratory Moonshine because I was dying to try it. We went to this cool little bar down the street from the tattoo parlor called the Stillery and ended up hanging out there for a couple of hours chatting with the bartender (who was originally from upstate NY) and an airline pilot from Memphis sitting next to us. It was really fun to just hang out and relax for a little bit. The drinks were DELICIOUS.
The bartender suggested we check out the Five Points area of East Nashville because they have some cool shops and restaurants so we went there for dinner. We went to the BEST vegetarian restaurant I've been to so far called The Wild Cow. The picture below is Jeremy CRYING because he put the hottest sauce on his burrito. It was amazing to watch and hysterical :)
Next door was an ice cream place called Jeni's so we obviously needed to try it. They had all original and unique ice cream flavors - I had the brown butter almond brittle which might have been the most delicious ice cream I have EVER eaten. Not kidding. Jeremy got the vanilla bean and something else that he also said was unbelievable. Seriously. Go there. Now,. Hop on a plane and go get this ice cream.
Nashville turned out to be one of the coolest cities I've been to. I almost wished we had another day but there were more adventures to be had!
Next Up: Little Rock, AK
