Day 2: Shenandoah National Park 7/2/15

We woke up and of course got New Jersey bagels before we hit the road for our 8 hour drive to Shenandoah National Park.  We said goodbye to my dad and off we went!  Jeremy drove first and we rode until we stopped for camp food in the middle of no where Walmart.  We made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the car and kept on going.  We switched drivers at some point and here's Chester resting before his first camping trip with his dad.
We stopped at a farmer's market called Orr's Farm along the way and got TONS of local fruits and veggies for us to eat and then we were almost at Shenandoah!
It was REALLY cloudy and foggy as you can see from the pictures.  We stopped at a few lookouts for pictures.

Pretty awesome, huh?  I can't imagine how the view would look on a clear day!

Then we set up the campsite... again... really great sleepers helpers. We stayed at the Big Meadows Campground at mile 51.  I thought I had an awesome picture of the campsite all set up... guess not.  Instead enjoy cute pups.

For the rest of the day we cooked some dinner (veggie burgers and fruits/veggies from the farmer's market) and took the dogs for a walk around the campground, amphitheater and checked out the showers and camp store.  We definitely went to bed early that night!

Next Up: Shenandoah Day 2 aka the day that rained and rained and rained
