Day 15: Denver/Boulder 7/15/15

Currently in: Flagstaff, AZ

Hey all!  Sorry for the radio silence. We've been so busy going place to place and I've been so exhausted at night I haven't had a chance to post.  We'll be in hotels for a while when we're in Cali so hopefully I will catch up then!

Back to Denver:

We woke up early and hit  the road for Denver/Boulder.  We stopped at the donut place in town called The Donut Mill and got some pretty delicious donuts for the road.

We got to Denver pretty early in the morning so we parked downtown and walked the 16th street mall.  We walked up and down and then headed towards the river walk.  Everyone loved seeing the dogs on their way to work! We were supposed to camp at Rocky Mtn NP, but dogs aren't allowed on the trails.  At first we thought we would be okay with that but then I was like no... we have to hike.  So we ended up booking a hotel for the nights and getting a refund on the campsite.

Our next stop was Boulder.  The dogs were wiped from our walk around Denver so we dropped them off at the hotel and went downtown.  Downtown Boulder is the best.  We were there for an afternoon when we came to Colorado 3 years ago and I couldn’t wait to go back.  We stopped at the Lazy Dog to grab some lunch on the roof.  Jeremy got a peanut butter and jalapeno jelly burger – he claims was delicious… I got a southwestern salad that really WAS delicious.

We walked alllllll the way down the street and alllllll the way back up again.  There are so many awesome shops to look in and check out.  Finally I had to sit down and we stopped in Starbucks to get some iced green teas.  While we were sitting there it started POURING.  Like CRAZY pouring and Jeremy thought this was a good time to get going.  So instead of staying in the nice cozy Starbucks dry, we ran through the torrential downpour to the car.  We were SOAKED.  Great idea, Jeremy!

Our next stop was the Apple store so I could get an external CD rom drive so I could do my workout dvds while on the road.  We walked around the shopping area and swung by Teavana to learn about their teas because I’ve been really liking tea lately.  Then we headed back to the hotel to change out of our soaked clothes – but because it was so hot out we really weren’t soaked for that long.

That night we went out to a Pho restaurant that was right next to the hotel because Jeremy had never had it before.  We got a ton of different things to share, the portions were huuuuge and it was really yummy.   Then we went to bed because we had an early morning planned to head to Rocky Mountain National Park to go hiking.
