We woke up at Maumelle in Little Rock to a beautiful sunrise. We slept with the top off the tent so it was
an early morning for us.
We were
supposed to camp outside Tulsa the next day but ended up driving to OK City because Jeremy
had to stop at Progressive to get his car looked at. Before we left on our trip, a woman lost her
wheel and it hit Jeremy’s car.
We took
the pups for a walk around the neighborhood while they took pictures of the car
and what not. Then we went to the hotel
for a late lunch. We decided to look on
Groupon and found a restaurant called Shorty Small’s and had bbq. They had the biggest mozzarella sticks I’ve
EVER seen.
We went back to the hotel,
grabbed the dogs and went to downtown OKC.
We ended up finding the botanical garden and spent a while walking
through there. It was so cute! And free for the public! The pups even had their first experience at a
dog park… because they were the only ones there lol It was another hot day and they were beat so
we brought them back to the hotel to cool down.
Chester attacking with kisses at the dog park!
“Minions” was opening that night and I wanted to go see it so we left
the dogs to rest and went to see it in Bricktown. It was so cute and funny! Afterwards we walked around Bricktown. It was an awesome place to hang out on a
Friday night!! We walked around for a
while: we saw horses and carriages, tons of bars, a minor league baseball
stadium, restaurants, etc. and then decided we were hungry for a late dinner. We tried to get baseball tickets earlier in the day but they were away :(
I quickly Yelped a pizza place and we ended
up at The Wedge We had a delicious
veggie pizza and some wine. We were
about to pay for the check when I overheard the girl behind me say she had a
Groupon. So I quickly went on my phone,
found the Groupon and used it – saved like $20 so that was sweet. I really didn’t know what to expect from OKC,
but we had a really great time walking around.
I almost wished we had another day there but I was excited to go to
Santa Fe!
